DETAILS:
A
building with no windows, this new school for the Viznitz community
was built on a site totally enclosed by surrounding buildings.
The new building was grafted on to an existing building, creating
interesting site conditions. New arches echo those of the existing
buildings, and create entrance portals that offer semi-private
entrance space. The classrooms are grouped around a central
glazed atrium, which acts as an indoor play area.
The school is for the orthodox community, and its inward-looking
form reflects its function. |
